There is nothing a trolly or Trax can do that a bus or buses can't do better and cheaper when all costs are included. Besides, buses can run on electricity, diesel and natural gas, change routes on a proverbial dime and go around accidents. "Light rail" is promoted because it uses "Free" Money from the federal government.

The flip side of your argument is that since trolley is fixed, development tends to aggregate around it, just like a freeway(something a bus route never affects). That is the point of teh sugar house trolley
