So, just what exactly of the currently proposed laws would have stopped Newtown? That's right, none.

Smaller capacity magazines? Nope, he just would have had more. Reports state that even though 30 round magazines were used, several discarded after use still have rounds in them.

Background check? He hadn't been judged mentally ill or have a criminal record. No help there.

Banning certain types of assault weapons? A semi auto shotgun using .00 buck shot would have done the same thing with less rounds.

I'm saddened that this happened. It was horrific. But as in the case with Aurora, just one person carrying a weapon, be it a CWP holder, a security guard, a cop, could have stopped both incidents right at the beginning.

Yes, worf, we need a LOT of hype control. Let's start with the NRA.

CB--so you're saying we need more hype control? I agree.

Hate and irrational fear abound in postings here.

Some where, some place, right now, someone is planning another similar attack. Why not?
Look at all the attention that it brings, all the drama it presents to the world.
The more that this kind of behavior is hyped, the more we will find there are those who
are drawn into the belief they can do it better and more outlandish.
Was the knife attack in Texas just another evidence of someone showing that guns are not the
only weapon that can be used to threaten life and limb.
This has been used for political purposes and the use of those whose lives have been most touched
by it is a sad reality of how far politicians will go to gain their own ends.

Did someone explain to this grieving woman that the legislation on the table would have done nothing to stop Adam Lanza?
    Obviously not.

This was a shameful abuse on the part of the Obama Administration.

Pushing his agenda on the shoulders of a grieving mother....shameful.

And the clearest example so far that the White House weekly briefings are just a forum for Obama propaganda.

What about the Newtown parents who are against gun control. Let's hear from them.
