It is often the patients who demand antibiotics, after taking the time to
explain the difference between a virus and a bacteria they say, "That's
all fine, but how can I get better without a pill?" Doctors often receive
bad ratings for practicing good medicine by refusing antibiotics: "I
don't know why I wasted the time and money to see a doctor, they
didn't do anything."
Sounds like we are creating the "perfect storm" for an infectious
epidemic involving antibiotic resistant bugs.
