Having reviewed approximately 200 student disciplinary cases as a school board member ten years ago I have learned three things:
1)Schools serving better neighborhoods had drug-related problems while the poorer schools dealt more with gangs/violence.
2)Only once in four years did the parents come to the board to apologize and vow it would never happen again. If they spoke at all it was to defend their little darling against the big-bad school.
3)When girls fought at school they were far more violent than the boy fights. The girls played for keeps.

For years, all we hear is that girls are the same as boys and girls can do anything boys can do. As a society, we have erased any notion of being "feminine". We are now seeing the fruits of our labors for better and worse.
