I'm not going to read this entire article, but one moment in the Jazz/Lakers series stands out for me. About 30 years ago in the Salt Palace the Jazz were up by a bucket with only a second or two left to play. The Lakers had taken time out before inbounding the ball in front of their bench about 70 feet away from their basket. A Laker threw it into Maurice Lucas near the sideline at halfcourt, who then turned and heaved a two-handed shot: Swish! No one could believe it, including the Lakers who were laughing like crazy since, according to Kareem, the Lakers had played so poorly the whole game and couldn't believe they now had a chance to win in overtime, which they did. I can still see the Lucas shot, now in slow motion, drift through the air right through the basket --- sigh.....
