Let's see if that "same look" leads to a losing record like I think
Best QB in the state, amazing D, great coach that learned from the master . . .
Yes, we are looking for more of the same in 2013. And yes, that comes with more
illogical losing predictions from haters.Go Big Blue!!!
I think Matt Wells knows what he is doing. He hired a good defensive coordinator
and clearly knows how to run a solid offense. Seeing as the Aggies routinely put
up 31+ points per game last season, and Wells will only get better as a coach, I
expect success for sure. Let's go bowling again!Go Aggies!
I thought the best QB in the state graduated from SUU and is going to the NFL.
My mistake I guess someone thinks USU has the best in the state. Learning from
the best is different then applying it in your own way to a new team. Again
let's see who is right at the end of the season. He will get better in
years to come Sambone. But that doesn't mean he will start his head
coaching carrer with a bang. Notice I said START his carrer with a bang.
Oh and Big Blue, I have developed an excellent method for dealing with trolls.
Hit me up if you want to know what it is.
No question that we will go bowling, just not the potato bowl anymore.
Let's get a real bowl game that the nation can take a look at. The Aggies
were a better team than the Potato Bowl last year. The Aggies are no longer the
team that hopes to compete but a team that the opposition hopes to beat. The
mentality is now there, let's take it to the next level. Also, the Merlin
Olsen field had better be filled to a capacity this year. What a shame to have a
top 20 team not having spectators bursting the top of the stadium.
@SamboneWould that be annoying me every single step of the way with
comments that make no sense? And you really shouldn't talk about troll
like behavior. Aggie84, there are 4 real bowls and the only way the aggies will
get there is if they consistantly have undefeated records and MWC titles.
Clearly they weren't a better team than the Potato Bowl or they
would've been in one of the big four. Clearly you've never been to
the games. I have and I've seen a lot of so called fan's. You wish
the opposition hopes to beat USU. Did Wisc, Texas A&M, or Aurburn hope to
beat USU? No, they knew they were going to beat USU. Add BYU to that list as
@Aggie84Yeah, a bowl game better than the potato bowl for sure. I
blame the gutless WAC commissioner for not securing more than one bowl tie-in.
But at the same time, I still think it was an important step in the progress of
the program. Win a bowl game first, then talk about going to better bowls. I
think we have definitely earned that right. Look out Mountain West!
We have the potential to be the team to beat again this coming season. We are
fortunate to have the best QB in the state on our team.@Big BlueI'm serious, man. So far, it's had a 100% success rate.Go Aggies!
@StangLet's compare statisticsChuckie Keeton: 275 - 407
(67%), 3373 yrds, 27 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, QB rating of 154, 8.29 yrds
per attempt. Led his team to 11-2, conference champions, bowl win. Also ran
for 619 yards and 8 touchdowns.Brad Sorensen: 273 - 439 (62%), 3139
yards, 23 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, QB rating of 135. Team went 5-6. Head to head USU 32 - SUU 3Keeton: 22-26 , 304 yards 2 touchdowns 1
interception.Sorensen: 12-31, 153 yards, 0 touchdowns 1 inteception. In every statistic, Keeton is better. His team is better. Keeton has
been listed in the top 25 quarterbacks this year. Sorensen is good,
no doubt, but Keeton is better. And your claim that he is "going to the
NFL" is inaccurate. He hasn't been drafted yet, and he is predicted to
go in the last round or undrafted. Keeton was selected as the
Aggies best player this year and they have 2 players in the NFL draft. Kerwynn
Williams and Wil Davis. With 2 players in the draft. Keeton was considered the
Aggies' best And he is just a sophomore. Won't be talked about for
the NFL until he is a Senior.
If it's 100% successful why do you keep responding to me and arguing with
every little thing I say?
@TallNSkinny43Excellent comparison. Keeton putting up those numbers
as a sophomore makes me really excited to see what he can do in the next two
years. And I heard he is training with Cam Newton's old QB coach this
summer, too. And Sorensen? Well, he's definitely good, no
question. But he has some seriously stiff competition in the draft. Colby
Cameron comes to mind. Sorensen will have to work his tail off to get drafted,
and even then I don't necessarily think he will be a starter.
Here is where you and I agree sambone. Brad is gonna have to work hard.
Luckily that's what he does. Please answer this question sambone. If we
were talking about an aggie QB would you be saying the same thing? That he may
not get drafted or even start. No I thik you would confidnetly say any USU QB
would start in the NFL. Brad isn't gonna start for a few years. As with
any rookie QB. But make no mistake about it he will start eventually.
"Sorensen is definetly good no question." He's more than good. He
proved that for three years. Keeton is good. Not a great QB by any stretch.
Maybe if he was on a top 15 team he would be but not with the aggies. He is a
good QB though.
@Stang,So your hatred for USU makes him not a good quarterback? USU was
number 16. one spot out of the top 15. And if being on a non-top 15 team means
that you aren't a great quarterback, then we can eliminate Matt Barkley and
Geno Smith as great quarterbacks, and Sorensen wouldn't even be considered
Did I say he wasn't good? No, I said he was good. He's not great but
he's good there is no denying that. You just proved my point. They
weren't a top 15 team. TallNSkinny43 you are so wrong about Brad. Being
an FCS QB and putting up the numbers he had makes him awesome. Playing and
beating top ranked teams with his arm makes him great. Playing sub par FBS
teams and barely beating them isn't good. Once again I said Keeton is a
good QB. And maybe being on a top 15 team he would be great. We will never
know. He's not even in Brad Sorensen's league though. Even you
aggies can agree with that. Even with your hatred for everything NOT USU.
I don't hate non-USU things. I was just pointing out a flaw in your logic.
Being on a top 15 team doesn't make you the best and being out of the top
15 doesn't make you not great. Utah State's system was great for
Keeton. He was great this year. You have yet to show how Sorensen was the
better QB this year. He is a great FCS QB, but I don't think he would have
been as good against FBS defenses, and this year, Keeton was better. And about
barely beating sub par opponents. USU barely beat U of U and Lousiana Tech, a
Top 25 team. They hammered every other team they beat, and San Jose St.
finished in the Top 25 and wasn't sub-par. Keeton led the Aggies to a
great season. I don't argue that Sorensen wasn't good or that he
won't be drafted. But Keeton was better this season. I wish him the best
of luck Actually Sorensen played better his Sophomore and Junior years than his
Senior year. His sophomore numbers were as good as Keeton's sophomore
numbers. Keeton was better this year
My mistake I thought every aggie hated everything not USU. Brad was apart of
the BYU squad and battled with Max Hall for the starting position. You
can't tell me that's not the mark of a great QB. UofU has been sub
par for a few years now. And Lousiana Tech was in the WAC with USU. That means
sub par regaurdless of being top 25. San Jose ST is nothing. SUU almost beat
them a few years ago. This year maybe, but overall Sorensen's numbers are
better. You have nothing to show with all this talk. Overall SUU had the
This is an article about the Aggies. So why are we discussing a qb from another
school that was destroyed by the Aggies? I guess while we are at,
one point TallNSkinny's stats doesn't show is that Keeton got it done
against a far superior group of teams than the lower level schools su played
against. Sorensen was no where near the qb Keeton was last year and Chuckie has
two more years to improve upon. The Aggies are in great hands.
The mark of a truly great quarterback is one who can beat you with his arm AND
his legs. Keeton has shown tremendous improvement year over year from being a
freshman to a sophomore. And the best part is that he is only going to get
better.Comparing all the in-state quarterbacks from last season stat
for stat, Keeton wins handily in virtually every category, especially passing
and rushing yards. Best college QB in Utah... by far. Super stoked
to see what he can do going forward.
@Go Big BlueSomeone said USU had the best QB in the state. I just
offered an opinion on who actually is the best. Then of course you guys had to
argue with me. I'll defend what I said and my team to the bitter end. He
destroyed every single school besides USU so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Barely got it done against sub par teams that SUU can/will play at any time.
Keeton can only wish to put up the carrer numbers Sorensen has. That's all
I'm saying. @samboneAs I said before compare
carrer and Sorensen is better. Compare him to guys like Riley Nelson and Keeton
isn't even in the top 5. That's all I'm saying.
@StangYou are comparing career numbers of a Senior to that of a sophomore.
In two more years of playing Keeton will beat Sorensens numbers easily.
Well, I suppose it's about time to wrap up the discussion here. Most of you
had good points. But somebody said Riley Nelson is better than Keeton and,
well.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Rudy is arguably the worst senior quarterback BYU has
ever had. I mean, the guy only lost every important game for the Y last season.
Every. Single. One. (ND, BSU, Utah, OSU, and even SJSU... ouch)Nelson going to BYU is possibly the best thing that has ever happened to USU.
@TallandSkinnyThink that if you want. I was just telling it like it
is. Sambone,Riley made the best decision of his carrer.
Staying at USU would've been the worst thing he could've done. he
wanted to go to a better team with a chance to win.
