May we remember Newtown as the tragic result of an insane young man given access to weapons by his equally insane mother. What was she thinking?
The more we know about their living situation the less we understand.

Shame on us if we forget "Fast and Furious" and Lybia!

Make that 4 and 5 grandslams with that point.

Barack the demagogue! Always predicable to use fear and misinformation against the low information folks in the US to campaign for his causes. Depend on Barack to use kids as props or whatever is necessary to force his gun-less America agenda. The man is despicable and dishonest. Barack wants registration - he wants your name on a list and he won't stop until he gets it.

A demagogue is a political leader in a democracy who appeals to the emotions, prejudices, and ignorance of the less-educated people of a population in order to gain power.

Any questions?

Sorry BO but America has and will forget. But your critcs want to thank you. All the hyperbole and BS spewed by both sides sold a few thousand more guns and raised another couple million by the NRA gun nuts. You'll be able to try again in a few months as I'm sure the copy cat nuts will be out in force with the weather warming up.

Shame on you for politicizing a horrible massacre.

I am not a gun fan – but:
Shame on Obama for blaming gun owners for the insanity of a mentally disturbed man who killed children in an ever-so-fashionable but blatantly ineffective gun free zone
Shame on Obama for blaming gun owners and completely ignoring Hollywood violence and its influence on the coarsening of America - because they finance Obama
Shame on Obama for using children as a political shield for his own incompetence

Why doesn't barack outlaw terrorism while he is at it? And outlaw illegal immigration too. He really should make those illegal, because then those wouldnt be a problem and no one would do them.

'Shame on us' if Newtown is forgotten’

Absolutely Newtown should not be forgotten. This is why I and others like me continue to point out that we need to attack the problem of (gun) violence where it exists. Not attack it where it doesn't exist just so we can say we have done 'something'. If we don't attack this problem intelligently, no progress will be made.

Let us begin by reminding ourselves that law abiding people are not the problem. Criminals and people with mental health problems .. are the problem. Therefore banning guns that look like 'assault' weapons such as having pistol grips as was done in the last assault weapons ban will not solve the problem.

For the sake of the memory of the children .. of Newtown .. and for the sake of all of us, let us attack this problem intelligently. For the sake of the children who are saved from criminal action by guns every year let us remember and take wisdom from this now famous quote ..

"Adam Lanza commits a crime, and I'm here to grovel and plead for my rights?"

Robert Steed of Vernon Conn spoken to Connecticut lawmakers after the Newtown shooting.

As a matter of fact, Mr. patriot, I do have a question. Assuming we are able to agree on just where the MOST "low information voters" actually live, then why do they tend to vote pretty heavily for Republican presidential candidates? And what could/should we do to make them "smarter"?

Salt Lake City, UT

Releasing the crime scene and autopsy photographs would ensure that Americans never forget Newtown.

Thank you, Mr. President, for staying focused and not getting sucked into the vitriolic vortex of gun anger. What we've done up to this point, which is nothing, hasn't worked.

Classic left-wing non sequitur.

It’s a commonly known fact that California votes predominantly Democratic

re:Mark B

I get it Mark - you are a liberal and you don't like being called a low information voter. I would say you are an exception to the 'low information' masses that voted for Barack either because he was the right skin color, he gave em hand outs or he was a cool cat. A very sad indictment to a high percentage of America. I labeled Barack as a demagogue because that is his predictable pattern for the past 4+ years. For every issue the man uses fear coupled with misinformation to rev up his adoring supporters instead of setting down and governing like an actual president should. It is something that turns the stomachs of most Americans. This gun debate is serious Mark - it is not something that should be politicized like it is by Barack because the majority of Americans cherish their right to protect themselves and their families and when a president and his gun-banning supporters attempt to mis-represent the facts in order to achieve a long - desired socialist dream of a gun-less America it divides and polarizes America which seems to always be the goal of Barack Obama.

old man,
you are correct, but we cannot prevent Mark B, Hutterite, or old man from commenting.

You're OK with BO using fear and misinformation?

You're OK with BO politicizing a massacre?

After all, never let a crisis go to waste!

Hypocrisy at its finest.

"Obama uses fear! Obama is a Muslim! Obama wants our names on a list!" - Says the right winger that listens to his very Republican biased radio show that constantly uses fear to generate hatred toward the other party.

I guess I am a low hatred information voter, but I will stick with facts than any fear tactic by either party.

"I will stick with facts than any fear tactic by either party."
Says the person who claims that anyone with a different opinion listens to "his very Republican biased radio show that constantly uses fear to generate hatred toward the other party" (but of course not a very left wing hate based MSNBC)

Hypocrisy at its finest indeed (and relatvely high hatred)
