So, he is willing to plead guilty and spend the rest of his life in prison if it means him not having to lose his life. Yet he was more than happy to take the lives of his victims. He didn't take their lives into account. I don't think the courts should take his life into account. I hope the prosecution seeks capital punishment!

I think this shows clearly that he is sane and competent to stand trial.

He deserves death, if only so the atonement has more chance of working for him.
No plea deal.

Though with the liberalism shown in CO lately, I doubt they would sentence him to death anyway..... Now, if he were in Texas.....

I used to favor the death sentence but have changed my mind for the following reasons:
1) too many people are sentenced to death who are later found to be innocent. 2)the waste of taxpayer dollars with trials and retrials, makes it just too expensive. It's just more practical to lock him up and throw away the key. The advantage to having a death sentence is that it can be plea bargained down to life w/o the possibility of parole and also save a lot of money.

If anyone deserves death, this guy does.

Killing 12 innocent people and wounding dozens more certainly deserves the death penalty. It's going to cost the public probably upwards to $2 million to keep this guy in jail for the rest of his life. Why must the public endure the brutal death and destruction of dozens of innocent men, women and children then have to pay millions to keep him alive? Something's wrong with this picture.
