Every person is precious and likely had a tender core at some point in their
lives. For many, that tenderness becomes calloused and disappears while living
in a difficult world, often for reasons not evident from the outside. I grieve
for Adam Lanza's illness and whee it led him. I cannot see him as
"despicable," although his acts certainly were. We must get past
hanging labels on others. There's too much complexity in every human to be
reduced to short phrases. In a sensationalistic world of media hype, I'm
so grateful for good, honorable people like the Parkers who can set an example
we can all learn from.
If I have offended anyone with my previous post, I am sorry, please forgive me.
I only want to know the truth of what happened. The Parkers probably hope to get
some clues from Adam's father to help them understand why. Some
of the information on the internet related to the Sandy Hook massacre is
obviously in error, some is blatantly misleading, and yes some is disgusting.
However, some information makes one question, why did that happen, that
doesn't make sense. Information from "reliable sources"
disseminated by mainstream media news was also inconsistent and conflicting. The real problem of Adam Lanza's mental health issues, violent
video game playing, and fixation on a mass murderer, are not being addressed.
Restricting gun rights does not begin to solve these problems. I do not own
guns, but restricting this right from law abiding citizens does not prevent
those with criminal minds from getting weapons and causing harm.
The healing would be much less painful if the news media was not stalking the
innocent people who have been forever hurt by the acts of that despicable
madman. Leave them alone.Pray for them all.
Well said, one old man.
It figures that it would be the Parkers who would do this. I'll bet that
part of what they felt they needed to do was to let Lanza's father know
they understood the grief he must feel, too. I'm sure he needs comfort
just as much as Adam's other victims need it.The Parkers are
certainly some great people.
