We also said there were no chemical weapons found in Iraq when Saddam had used them against the Kurds. We also suspected they were shipped to Syria but could not prove that as we could not prove Saddam had them after we invaded Iraq. Syria is getting to the point that Assad is desperate to use more than conventional weapons against his own people. We don't have a real policy in dealing with Syria, Iran, and other hostile countries such as North Korea. We are always dropping back to punt in those places.
