I hold out little hope of a solution here. Politicians lack the political will to do anything but pander to Latino voters.
And the terms "deportation" and "assimilation" are swear words in any such discussion.
Still, they might strike a political deal that allows both sides to say they won. Rest assured it will not be in the best interest of our nation. But despite testimony from economists seeking to enhance the labor pool rather than dilute it, our elected officials are more interested in currying favor with special interest voting blocs.
