A review of sports programs and a realistic analysis of costs vs. benefits
(including alumni fundraising) would be a smart idea. But the colleges probably
need those funds elsewhere to keep tuition manageable.
My kids pay more in activity fees at the state universities than I paid in
tuition when I was a student there. If the sports are such a money maker, why do
all students have to pay $300+ a semester to activity fees which mostly go to
sports? Seems like a racket to me.
