I agree with all of them. I have read to my kids all sorts of great books and they are straight A students. There has got to be some magic in reading to them. I love hanging out with my family and I like to do fun things so I drag them along with me.

We have hiked and biked all over Utah. Now that they are getting bigger (jr. High) we can go farther and faster. It is a blast.

Being a dad is the greatest thing ever. We rarely just sit around watching football games. I can't think of a bigger waste of time. The occasional game is fun, but it seems more like a tradition for lazy dads. (Oh dagger to the heart I know) Stop watching other people have fun and go take your kids on an adventure. It's not about you. It's about your kids!

This is what I love about dads! They know how to keep things simple and get right to the heart of what really matters; it really takes the pressure off.

I disagree with RED about football games. It is a blast and it's fun to go to a football game and to follow a team during the season with your kids. I know stab to the heart. But, try tailgating with your family and then sitting in the bleechers during a blizzard and follow your team in a undefeated season and celebrate the bowl win. Lots of fun and you can talk with them, interact with them, where when riding a bike you'll have a harder time having a conversation without running into something or someone.
