Some suggestions for our country:

* replace every political leader in Washington. This is a service-not a career.
* because of a conflict of interest,--no one on the dole can vote.
* only Americans with a HS degree, or higher, can vote.
* cut all federal income taxes, but do allow a twenty percent tax on imports, and exports.
* allow the states more independence to set their own rules, and laws.

Now that's transformation we can all live with.

Obama and the Democrats have demonstrated their total dishonesty and hypocrisy once again.
#1: This so called sequester was Obama's idea in the first place and in fact he threatened to veto any attempt to alter or defeat it by either house.
#2: Obama and the Democrats have lied about all the horrible consequences of the sequester which only cuts government increases in spending not deep cuts like we are lead to believe by about 2 cents on the dollar! We could compensate for that with getting rid of free trips by government employees to "conferences".
#3 Obama and the Democrats were just handed massive tax increases on working people in America but that isn't enough, they want more WITHOUT any restriction their out of control spending!
#4: According to polls more Americans favor spending cuts and are seeing right through Obama's blatant lies. We either cut government spending or he will destroy our economy.

Before the Bush tax cuts, which the Republicans assured us were only temporary so it would not run up the debt to much. We were running a surplus. Ever since a deficit. The Republicans put two wars on the nations credit card. In every war we have been in before taxes were raised to pay for it. How about we act like responsible adults and pay our bills.

@worf
you do realize you are talking about instituting basically a feudalistic form of government right?

think I am wrong? lets start with you tell us what you consider being "on the dole."

Chicken Little's got nothing on the Washington politicians.
If this paltry $58 billion crashes the government then the problem cannot be solved.
Yesterday the GOP members of the Senate drafted a bill allowing Obama to take the wheel 100%. He would have been able to control exactly where the cuts would take place.
Obama refused the offer.
There is no leadership in government. None.
this has been 15 months in coming and they are totally unprepared to address it.
Shame on them. The social contract is meaningless at this point.

mcclark,
the cuts WERE temporary - they DID have an expiration date. BO signed the legislation making them permanent.

and we were not running a surplus. Gross federal debt increased every year under clinton. You cannot have a surplus when your debt increases.

BO says "They voted to let the entire burden of deficit reduction fall squarely on the middle class,"

he was talking about the dem vote in the senate against allowing BO to select the cuts, right?

@Tolstoy-- "on the dole"? We all know what that is.

How do you come up with feudalistic form of government?

You need to do some homework. Read, and study.
