I appreciate the bumble bee just as much as the next guy but I must say that the only time I saw a bumble last year was while I was harvesting squash. When I bent over to pick up a squash a bumble bee had crawled inside my knee length shorts and was offended when I placed one hand on my knee for support as I bent over. The bumble bee promptly stung my knee.
It was a painful learning experience. I will be more careful in the future.
I usually have tons of bumble bees in my flower beds once the flowers are up and blooming.
