Hilarious, George. All praise to Silent Cal for his blissful ignorance as the great economic calamity in this nation's history took shape under his "leadership." Calvin Coolidge and George W. Bush, both simple men with simple minds, nearly destroyed the US economy by trusting Big Ol' Wall Street to do the right thing.

Yeah, what we need are really clever guys like Roosevelt and Obama who have the genius to take a market crash and turn it into a long decade of pain.
Reagan (another supposedly simple mind) knew what to do and -- more importantly -- what *not* to do with the 1987 crash. He followed the Coolidge way, and our recovery was fairly quick.
