My guess is that it wasn't guns that finally brought this criminal down.
We probably just politely asked him to stop killing people. This is what we should do if confronted by a violent criminal who may attack our families. Don't use weapons to protect yourself.
Just politely ask them to not attack you.
Watch for Hollywood to make this into a movie and glamorize his ill-fated life and death!
