"President Barack Obama campaigns for gun control, but is silent about "legal-but-lethal" tobacco."

=======

This letter writer is clearly ignoring the facts,
or
simply is an Obama hater, with an axe to grind.

1. Pres., Obama is a former smoker, and knows 1st hand about tobacco use. He has spoken out about it numerous times.

2. Most Liberal states already have laws prohibiting smoking in cars with children [and also have much higher taxes].

3. The Tobacco industry has stronger support from the GOP.

4. Obamacare places a premium price against tobacco smokers, and includes stop smoking programs.

...and yes,
We need gun controls for the same reasons - public safety.

Tell me,
What has a Republican ever done about tobacco?

Pick an issue, and use it to slag President Obama. It's getting pretty tiring. Tell you what, let's just say that the president is continuing the tobacco control efforts started by his predecessor.
