Why can't we see these matches on BYUtv instead of watching the pitiful effort of the basketball team?
MJB, I would have no problem with these matches being televised, but to call the basketball team "pitiful" reveals the desperate need for a little perspective. They are 18-6, aren't they? No-one in their right mind would call them elite, but shouldn't "pitiful" be reserved for sub-.500 teams? I would accept "decent," "ho-hum," or even "mediocre." If the Y is "pitiful," what adjective would you use for WCC bottom-dwellers?
And to answer your question, it's because the number of people who enjoy following basketball is roughly 10,000 X the number that enjoy following volleyball. Surely you know this, right?
