There is no longer any scientific doubt that the Earth’s average surface temperature is
increasing and that changes in ocean temperature, ice and snow cover, and sea level are
consistent with this global warming.

In Utah, the average temperature during the past decade was higher than observed
during any comparable period of the past century and roughly 2oF higher than the 100 year
average.

But I know, I know...

Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity [all college drop out millionaire radio talkers, let alone accredited Climate Scientists] know more about it than Scientists do.

When I was studying geology in college back in the early 1960's, the debate over the new theory of continental drift has causing a furor.

Not much different than the furor now. Continental drift has been proven beyond doubt.

What will we discover regarding warming?

It's getting kinda old and boring. It'll at least be fun to watch current tree-huggers scurry to whatever becomes the next socialist crisis scam.

One that involves tens of thousands of researchers of nearly every (adult) age, creed, nationality, culture, language, etc.

One that serves to advance the socialist agenda (even though most of the scientists are not socialists - but that is just a convenient cover).

And finally one that, despite being immensely difficult to manage, all falls together because of the phenomenal charisma of one man - Al Gore (because only HE has the charisma to make them all toe the line in unison).

One of the things that made January as cold as it was is the snow cover we have. As one can tell with sun glare reflecting off of snow, snow and ice have a high albedo (albedo is the ratio of solar energy that's reflected off the ground back up rather than absorbed into the surface). Grass, dirt, rocks, etc have a lower albedo. More solar radiation is absorbed into those surfaces. So if we have snow/ice covered mountains and that melts the albedo of the mountain is reduced, more solar radiation is absorbed, and that's a warming effect, not a cooling effect.

The unprecidented 20 days of inversion in the Salt Lake Valley didn't help much with the global warming sketpics knot-hole view of the rest of the world either.

While shivering in the valley and complaining about global warming being a hoax, they never take into account the 54 degree heat wave (yes, it's been 30-40 degree ABOVE normal) we had 8,000 feet higher up at the ski resorts.

But their world views can be so easily formed from their little old back door steps,
and validate everything they heard on KNRS.

I have never denied that the climate is changing. The earth's climate has always changed, the geological record shows that. It is your ilk that is demanding that it remain constant and not change.

If you want junk science, just look to the Climate change alarmists. They are driving global policies based on models that they themselves have stated do not balance.

The other problem is that there is no proof that human acivity is having any effect on the earth's climate.

In Forbes we read "New NASA data blows gaping hole in Global Warming Alarmism" where NASA admits that new data shows large gaping holes in the climate models that your ilk believes faithfully in.

One of the best articles about the lies being perpetuated by the alarmists is in the UK Register. See "Painting by numbers: NASA's peculiar thermometer" where not only do they show NASA adjusting data to fit their hypothesis, also shows that the satelite data indicates a global cooling trend.

The big question is why do you believe the alarmist lies?

If you want facts, contact JPL. The US has a number of satellites collecting an array of weather data that will end your speculation. This includes open ocean temperatures, probably the most significant indicator.

Please take time to read these webistes, and please do not be afraid to ask the experts via email. Keep your emails to a specific question rather than an ideological statement, if you expect an answer. Also, do not hesitate to contact your local public universities.

I sighted a local University study conducted right here in Utah.

You however, once again -- sight a foreign tabloid from off the internet as a legitimate news source.

To "LDS Liberal" again, you attack the source because it proves you wrong.

Look at the graphs they present. They pulled the published NASA data and graphed it. They show that the raw NASA data indicates cooling over the past 30 years, but the adjusted data shows warming.

Why would NASA have to adjust the data if their stations were properly located in the first place? If they are adjusting them because of improper placement, why are they relying on data from improperly placed weather stations?

Here are what other news organizations have said about NASA's ever changing data.

Apparently some other investigative reporters found that NASA has been adjusting data to validate their claims.

Again, why trust the lies that the alarmists spread?

Global warming is just a bunch of hot air. (pun intended!)

Man-made global warming is a total farce.

Too bad we can't harness it. Heat is energy you know, so the trick is how to use this natural cycle of extra energy to our advantage.

What we should do is stop paying global warming alarmists to run around with their hands in the air, and hire energy engineers to develop uses for the added energy blessing from the warm part of the climate cycle.

The Republicans will soon be green as well as pro immigration, women etc., only ten percent without a party fail to acknowledge the problem.

Correct (at least up until 15 years ago). However, there is also no scientific proof that it has anything at all to do with atmospheric CO2 or human activity. The warming started 150 years ago or so. We may have finally reached the peak, as global temperatures haven't done much for 15 years. According to NOAA, a 15-year cessation of warming invalidates the theory of human-caused global warming at the 95% level.
