Instead of criticizing the man's math why not praise his patriotism to actually pay down the deficit? He's a lot more patriotic than obstructionist repubs who seem to have forgotten why we are so in debt and who truly provides wealth.
Everything we temporarily own really belongs to the lord.
When something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Agree!
Is that kind of like Republicans;
Reducing taxes, and increasing spending?
Starting a few wars, and not funding any of them?
Saying your gonna cut Social Programs, and then don't?
Saying your going to reverse Roe v. Wade -- and then while having the WhiteHouse, the Senate, the House and the Supreme Court all stacked in your GOP favor - do nothing?
Take money away from Grandma and Grandpa, and giving it to your billion friends in the Oil and Defense industries?
Taking money from MainStreet, and giving it to WallStreet?
Having your candidadte promise to give everyone a 20% tax "reduction", not cut spending, actually increase
Military spending - AND, still reduce the budget.
Americans are on the to all the Republican lies, and promises that are too good to be true.
Let's not pretend some people have the greatest ability to do math...
'The $2.5 Trillion tragedy: What America has given up for 10 years of Bush tax cuts' -
By Zaid Jilani – Think Progress – 07/07/11
'While doing so, Bush promised prosperity and growth, but the nation got neither.
Leave the poor guy alone. We've all made funny math mistakes. His heart is in the right place. But in reality the only way to pay down the debt without total disruption of the economy is to do so gradually. Just a small diminution in spending pulls GDP down, so we have to be intelligent about it, just as you would about paying down your mortgage.
Why have so many repubs attacked this man? Is it because he demonstrated a trait (patriotism) which they lack? My how the wicked find the truth to be hard. We need to start paying off our debts. Bailouts, tax cuts to richies, wars in the Middle East, etc don't help us to do that. In fact, these things turned Clinton's surplus into a deficit.
Something repubs still refuse to admit.
