The United States had about 550,000 deaths during WW11. The Soviet Red Army had
about 490,000 deaths at Stalingrad. This is equal to about 90 percent of our
total war deaths over more than 3 years. Of the 91,000 German solders who lived
to surrender, less than 6,000 returned to Germany by 1955. A horrendous tragedy
with about 65,000,000 total deaths.
