bounce back strong? Back 2 their winning ways? The WCC conference has Gonzaga and Saint Marys as their only tough teams. BYU has lost to both of them and I don't think bouncing back strong includes playing poor opponents.

Cougars are roaring back strong after a blip in Spokane with poor officiating. The Portland blow out proves we can still make it to the Big Dance boys!

What will the Utes be doing come post season? The True-Blue Cougars will be making another run at the Final Four!

Was at the game, the kid from Portland is a punk. The league should suspend him for a few more games, or at least his school should. It was a deliberate attack, not a heat of the moment thing.

Haws looks out of sorts in away games. It looks like the best way to defend BYU is triple team Carlino, Haws and Davies and they will force the ball up instead of pass out of it.

Cosmo, congrats on that 1-14 PAC 10 road record combined last two years. You must be so proud.

While I actually agree with you on this why don't you remember it next time I make a similar post on a utah article and you have a hypocritical and indignant meltdown.

Does Jeff Call really think BYU bounced back or they played one of the worst teams in the nation and beat them easily. Jeff your credibility is at the tip of those typing fingers, call it for what it really was.

What? They are 8-14!! What happened at Gonzaga was disgraceful. Lame yesterday. Nice win, so what?

So Duckhunter, from your comment it seems that you're trying to say that outside of the top two or three PAC-12 teams, every other basketball team in the conference is just as pathetic as numbers 4 through 9 in the WCC. I'm pretty sure the national experts would disagree.
Just look at it as it currently stands in the RPI rankings (the measurement most used for the NCAA Tourney);
In the WCC you have Gonzaga at #8, BYU at #46 and St. Mary's at #59.
In the PAC-12 there are four teams in the top 42. In fact there are eight teams that appear in the RPI standings before the fourth from the WCC appears and all twelve PAC-12 teams appear in the RPI rankings before 4 of the 9 WCC teams - and WELL before 3 of those.
So yeah, if you were to make a "similar comment" to gdog3finally it would probably justify a "meltdown". The conferences just aren't apples and apples.

As an old B-ball ref, the fight was the fault of the refs. They had been calling the game way too loosely. They should have called a foul on that kid when he piled on. He had nothing to do with the action, he just jumped on top. If the refs had been in control, it wold have never come to that so they should have blown the whistle immediately when that kid jumped on the pile.

@motortrike

Thanks for the belly laugh! Of course I didn't say anything of the sort, just pointing out more utah "fan" hypocrisy. But it will obviously be a loooooong time before I can make a post similar to gdog's on a utah article. When utah plays bad teams, like stanford, they don't win by 20+, they lose by 30+.

LOL!

Let's scrutinize that PAC 12 lineup a little more closely. Besides #8 Arizona and #10 Oregon, you have

UCLA - lost at home to Cal Poly(9-9)
ASU - lost at home to DePaul(10-9)
Wash - lost at home to Utah(9-11)
Colo - barely beat Texas Southern(7-14) at home in 2OT
Stan - lost to USC(8-13)
Cal - lost at home to Harvard(10-6)
USC - lost at home to UC Irvine(10-11)
WSU - lost at Pepperdine(10-10)
OSU - lost at home to Towson(10-12)
Utah - lost at home to Sac St(10-8)

The bottom of the WCC is pretty weak, but the Utes have already lost to a team ranked lower than any team in the WCC.

#254 Portland > #257 Sacramento State

Meanwhile, #43 BYU is ranked right behind 4th place #41 Colorado in the PAC 12, not much different than their current 3rd place standing in the WCC.

Uteanymous,

Do you realize that your comment was just a lot of jibberish that accomplished absolutely nothing? By this point of the season pretty much every basketball program in the country has either an embarrassing loss or a close escape to a bad team. What matters is the body of work and your I'm pretty certain your comment did absolutely nothing to change the RPI rankings. It's all the proof we need that the WCC is absolutely horrific and the PAC-12 is among the elite conferences in the country. Period.
Don't worry, your cougs are still better than my Utes so you still have that.
