Comments about ‘Troops: Women should meet same standards as men’

Other countries have had women in combat positions for some time and we have had them in combat whether they were officially designated as being in combat or not. We've already had women injured and killed, so that won't be anything new. I believe women should have to meet the same physical requirements as men for any position, which will knock women out of some positions just because of a lack of strength, but if they can physically do the job, no problem (same as in other countries such as Israel, etc.)

We need to institute the draft as well without any exceptions. I think the public would be much more careful than we have been that way.

The second we make a mandatory draft of 2 years for every citizen like in other countries....

The conscript military had to be geared to the lowest intelligence as there were those who were not able to complete an education. We have a fine professional military, more educated, more capable and more disciplined.....and you want to bring back the draft? Yeah, OK sure. NOT!!! You bring back the malcontents, the criminals, the troops incapable of doing anything but menial details who then require more soldiers to watch them,.....NO! Not my Army! It is because we have a professional military that operations are so quickly and competently executed.

Draft? No thanks. It's volunteer for a reason.

Panetta will be responsible for any men killed because of PC-ness. And I expect the pressure will be on to make allowances in the interest of getting the numbers up.

you could do selective service which a great thing not all should be in the milatary. in the civil war the union did better after slaves got freeded because better people joined the army, people with principles. they would die for freedom. the north started winning more battles at this point on because they where fighting for a real goal of no more slavery.
