Finally, a provision in Obamacare that really makes sense.
If we don't be vigilent, the same thing will happen to gun owners.
If your doctor asks, don't tell them, tell your spouse and kids likewise.
Utahns should be extatic over this.
They've been trying to pass legilation like this for over 40 years,
and Pres. Obama - their sworn enemy - just hands it to them.
Now they need to address obesity in the same manner.
Conservatives shout and yell and whine about something called "personal responsibility."
But when some socialistic communistic liberal scoundrel proposes something that requires it, they start shouting and yelling and whining about that.
I guess that makes sense -- if you're nuts.
old man,
where are the conservatives complaining about it? certainly none of the comments on this board are complaining about smokers being held responsible for the results of their choices. But I guess this just gives you another chance to spew MSNBC and DNC hate speech.
I wonder if Obama will refuse his free health care since he's a smoker and all. Just sayin. Hypocrisy kind of sucks (no pun intended).
Smokers are going to be crucial to our evolution towards a single payer system. Of course, the only way that will work is that taxes on cigarettes, which have a direct cause/effect health relationship, will have to go way up.
Lost, just wait . . . .
This first sounded good to me, but after some thought,--aren't smokers already paying a high tax for their cigarettes?
Let's not over do it!
Massive federal and state taxes on cigarettes would be a great place to start.
I guess when HE gets around to finally reading the Health Care Act he will fire the guy who put in the thing about smokers.
Old man,
still wating, have yet to see negative comments from conservatives.
They already have a massive tax on cigarettes. Take the Smoker who smokes one Pack per Day
Cigarettes are 6.35 Per Pack (for a Pack of Camels) 2.00 of that is State, and 2.00 is Federal Taxes.
A Cigarette Smoker who smokes that one pack will spend 190.00 per month, and 2,286.00 per Year....
As a smoker - which i heartily enjoy, i guess it is time to make my wife happy and quit.
