Glad he didn't win the Heisman.
This same thing has happened to me many times...online. Since I'm single, it happens to a degree every day. Women especially love to appear to go through trials like illness, rape, being kidnapped and held by somebody, escaping dangerous people, and the list goes on. I've seen all of those.
Many times it no only has to do with capturing somebody's heart but also their pocket book. Many times I've had scammers (some literally from Nigeria) tell me their mother is about to lose an arm and needs $750 for the surgery, or whatever. Or a woman wants to meet me and needs $50 for gas. Or she comes on strong and then says she wants a "gift" or help with school.
Age-old stuff.
Lying is lying. Period.
