    The problem with hunting in Idaho is that there is nothing much to hunt anymore. The elk herds are a fraction of what they used to be and continue to decline due to over predation from wolves (ask the Idaho Fish and Game biologists if you don't believe it). Mule deer numbers are declining rapidly as well. Hunting in Idaho can now be defined as only a long walk in the woods with your rifle. While a nature walk can be a fulfilling experience, one does not need a license and it isn't hunting.
