Comments about ‘49ers' offense under Colin Kaepernick would suit former QB Steve Young’

utah "fans" around here still think replacing the mediocre smith with the vastly superior Kaepernick was the wrong move.

The next question would be, why does that bring you so much joy? How did you feel when John Beck flamed out in Wash, or when Max Hall flamed out in AZ? Did you take heat from Ute fans? Are you taking heat over Jimmer's failures in Sacramento?

Jimmer was not the #1 overall pick and he has not yet "failed" anything. He is barely in the 1st half of his 2nd season on a bad team. Of course last year was a lock out shortened season with no training camp so I'm not sure that we have any idea what Jimmer will become yet.

That said smith has never been particularly good and utah "fans" have been claiming his failings were not his fault for the better part of a decade. There has always been an excuse for him. But after 8 years in the nfl I'm pretty sure we know about smith.

The "joy" in it is not smiths failures, I never expected much from him to begin with, the "joy" is in watching ute "fan" angst, the wailing and gnashing of teeth, the tortured attempts to claim smith is better than he is with no evidence to support it, the fact that Kaepernick was so obviously superior to smith in ability yet utah "fans" melting down that he replces him. Yes that had been fun, a lot of fun, to witness and read. They aren't saying much now.

And if Jimmer does flame out, will you be just as silent? The Niners are far more than Kaepernick or Smith. 5 Super Bowls before either came along. Take the Holy War stuff somewhere else!

I just love the double standard of Utah fans. They are willing to give Smith 8+ years and multiple coaches, but Jimmer gets a lockout shortened season and half of another. Not only that, Smith played and did terrible until Harbaugh came along. At least when Jimmer plays, he does something. Second or third in the NBA in points per minutes played.
