What about Ron Paul?
With all respect to Mitt Romney (and I think he is due much more than he's received following his defeat), from the first time I heard him interviewed on a couple Sunday morning political talk shows, I had hoped that Mr. Daniels would be the Republican candidate, and was sorely disappointed when he declined to run.
I would have much preferred Mr. Romney as the President elect, but hope that either Mr. Daniels or someone very much like him will be around to try and clean up the mess being created by the newly reelected President and his comrades. It's going to be an awfully big job and will take an extraordinarily capable person to pull it off.
