A collective sigh of relief from Ute nation. Let's be honest here, he was going to stomp us. With the exception of Stanford, transitions are rarely seamless and this likely takes Oregon from a National Title contender to probably just a good top 25 team.
Depending on how many coaches follow him(which likely most will), I suddenly like our chances in this game. At least much better than I did a few minutes ago
Go Utes!
I imagine they are panicking in Boise right now. Probably looking for every spare cent they can get their hands on to throw at Chris Petersen.

"Depending on how many coaches follow him(which likely most will), I suddenly like our chances in this game."
Wishful thinking.
It's rare that college coaches take many of their assistants with them to the NFL.
Oregon will simply elevate their OC to HC and not skip (pun intended) a beat.
btw, shakeup coming in the Utah coaching staff... stay tuned.
@sportsfan,
You can have Roderick. We dont care.

What, to keep it close the first quarter?
Sorry to burst your crimson balloon, but all of that talent at Oregon isn't suddenly going to vanish simply because they elevate an assistance to head coach or bring in Chris Peterson to replace Chip Kelly.

Is that why Utah boosted Aaron's salary?
LOL!
christy would claim that she "didn't care" even if Kyle bolted and was replaced by BJ.
As usual, our resident BYU-hater has grossly under-estimated the landscape.
Roderick's considerable experience with Utah's offense AND defense (he coaches against Utah's defense every day in practice), along with his inroads into Utah's recruiting territory, will now be turned in BYU's favor.
Great addition to BYU's offensive staff!
@Chris B,
You never cease to amaze me.
You seem to know your stuff, but your judgements and predictions are almost always off mark.
Oregon is one of the most attractive destinations for both young athletes and coaches. You can "mark it down" when I say Oregon will not miss a beat in 2013. I wouldn't be surprised to see Peterson bolt Boise State to take over for Kelly.
Either way, Utah will lose to Oregon.
Utah's offensive staff needs some serious reconstruction. The defense has shown again and again that it can play in the PAC-12, but without an efficient offense it won't matter. I anticipate Utah following BYU's lead and making some big time adjustments.
skywalker, he didn't coach against Utah's defense everyday in practice. Clearly you have no concept of how football practices work. For half of a month every August, he coached against a simplified version of Utah's defense. The rest of the year, he coached against the scout defense, with two or three players that may end up at some point in their careers seeing considerable time on defense, running the defense they expected the opposing team that week to run.
I give it up to Oregon's athletic administration, they did a nation wide search for the best offensive mind they could find and got Chip Kelly from New Hampshire.
This is a lesson for both Utah and BYU. Both these schools need to broaden their horizons and start hiring some new blood rather than pciking up the latest retread.
This next year Utah mostly likely was going to lose in Autzen whether Chip was coaching the Ducks or not. The 'good' news is that Utah will probably lose that game by less... Here's to hoping for an upset though!
