A debate without "noise" from both sides is unlikely. Keep it simple and pass a national background check for any purchase. It should be as difficult to get a gun as a driver's license.
The Newtown mass murders has become the goose that laid the golden egg for Piers Morgan. I’m not questioning the sincerity of Morgan’s stance on guns but his objectivity and balance are important too. Morgan is not exactly a disinterested third party. He’s a talk show host chasing ratings and audience share.
Confrontational exchanges with guests like Mr. Jones and Mr. Pratt causes me to cringe. Such extremists are not representative of the average gun owner like myself. But for Piers Morgan, they are useful stooges who can’t resist the bait of a national exposure on CNN to launch their invective heavy diatribes.
I’m not sure whether Piers Morgan is helping or hurting the cause of a more rational gun policy in America.

-Piers Morgan and the NRA are the only voices the media hears. The real voices are the people out here. Do we have leaders who will listen and act upon them instead of those that just have the loudest voices?
Unfortunately, it's always the loudest voices that frame the discussion, be it on gun policy or anything else. For anything to change legally will require Congressional action and we all know it takes an earthquake to get Congress off its behind. They're not likely to do anything except talk, have hearings, and make speeches. But that could change if they see public opinion dramatically shifting. Those folks do love to get re-elected.
History show that governments have killed more people with guns then citizens.
Every genocide has been preceded by confiscation of guns. People allow this because they don't believe their leaders would do such a horrific thing.
Our founding fathers believed it, and that's why the second amendment. To protect ourselves from government.
It's just that simple.
So a British citizen, comes to the land of the free and the home of the brave because his life is better here than the UK, and he wants us to change to his liking? Tough!!! Like it, or leave it Piers. His own country attempted to get rid of guns and did to a certain degree, only to see gun violence rise. That is the point, if you take the law abiding citizens guns away, the criminal element will get worse. It's actually really easy to understand. But maybe only to real Americans.
Piers Morgan needs to go home to England where bashing the bible and the American constitution are common.
He's been deleted from my viewership...forever.
My hero trashed that redcoat piers morgan . I love it.
