Translation: The Obama administration is dragging their feet on enforcing our borders. A cynical scheme to try to pander to a large future voter bloc.
The lack of enforcement does not mean that the problems of illegal aliens being here is solved, or even reduced, only that it is being ignored.
Good people can disagree on what the correct immigration policy should be, but right now our laws specify a process for legal entry, and penalties for those who fail to comply. We should all agree that everyone needs to obey all laws.
Or, will we see a similar story reporting that the IRS is not bothering to audit taxpayers whose returns indicate illegal activity? Why should anyone obey the tax laws if the immigration laws are not being enforced just as vigorously?
Legal immigrants are welcome and a valuable part of our assimilated culture. Illegal aliens are not, because they signal everyone that no one needs to obey our laws.
Once again, coming here illegally or illegally overstaying a visa is criminal. ID theft, social security fraud, and perjury (lying on the i-9 form, saying you can legally work) are three felonies to illegally work.
The media isn't kidding anyone by trying to decriminalize people who have broken our laws.
Seven amnesties, and not enforcement has caused this problem. It's time Government and law enforcement work to get America's respect again, by following the current laws.
The numbers of illegal aliens are going down because Obama gave out a record 3.3 million visas last year for workers. While 23 million Americans are looking for full time work. Our country is unraveling.
One element missing from the story is the perspective of ICE agents.
Missing because it goes against the narrative.
The union representing ICE gives Obama and his policies low marks, going so far as to sue Homeland Security for their selective enforcement strategies.
But that side of the story has no place in this meme.
Sure would be nice if, before commenting here, people would turn their radios off and make an effort to learn the truth.
one old man, I don't listen to the radio. It would be great if everyone stuck to the topic and didn't try to attack others.
I do have almost half my family that came here legally from Mexico. They're taken their jobs.
A new book/ebook by a former Salt Laker explains the role, struggles, and contributions of immigrants and minorities: "What Foreigners Need To Know About America From A To Z: How to understand crazy American culture, people, government, business, language and more." Endorsed by ambassadors, educators, and editors, it paints a revealing picture of America on numerous subjects for those who will benefit from a better understanding.
@ one old man
It sure would be nice if you'd give us some specifics. Exactly what is wrong with our posts? What do you have an issue with? Where might we go for the truth?
How can you have not been committing a crime when working illegally requires the illegal to commit felonies. Lying on an I-9 form is a felony. Tax fraud is a felony. Identity theft is a felony..
