Comments about ‘Brad Rock: Andrei Kirilenko still making the stat crew work’

There might be some who think Andrei is not amazing and was a great impact on the Jazz I was not one of them. He still remains a Player I will watch even tho he no longer wears my Teams Jersey. He did suffer from a wide range of injuries but he worked through them. I never felt like AK did not give his best. Each night he was on the court he did what was asked of him and then some. No he can not carry a team in scoring or stop every guy defensively, But unlike other players he was hard worker on both ends of the court. Still and always will be a fan.

When a guy throws up all-star stats in his early 20's we tend to assume that's just the tip of the iceberg, but that all-star season was an aberration. He needed to score more that year because the roster lacked firepower. Andrei is a very good player whose skill set is so unique it's hard to properly evaluate him. If you look for him to be a "star," he's going to appear lacking because he doesn't dominate in telegenic ways. I see him as a glue guy deluxe, and in that role he's one of the best, if not the best. Good luck to him.

Unfortunately I feel that AK really hurt the Jazz because of the huge dollar amounts he received in return for very little in on floor contributions. Too bad that players can't be paid based on production rather than a bidding war for hoped for but seldom delivered performances.
