Re: Mildred in Fillmore
You also predicted that Riley Nelson would win the Heisman this year.
As a Cougs fan, I LOVE that Hoffman and, especially, Van Noy is returning. However, I'm also curious what their pre-draft NFL analysis came back with? Where did the analysis have both pitted in the NFL draft? It's all good to say they want to "finish what they started", etc. I'm guessing whether a "less-then-they-had-expected" analysis may have contributed to their decision to return as well? Either way, the team is MUCH stronger with both returning.
This reminds me a certain decision by Harold Arcenaux. Good for fans, bad for the player.
Wow ... Hoffman I understood but KVN surprises me. Congrats to all Cougar football fans, that really is some good news for all of you. As a Ute fan it would've been nice if they weren't around next year.
Obviously, some people can't see past the sarcasm in Mildred in Fillmore's posts.
His situation is a lot like Manti Teo's. We can only hope for a similar ending.
RE: Mildred in Filmore- "With KVN and Hoffman, we should win atleast 10 games again and be headed to a BCS bowl." Slow down just a bit. Even with these two great players returning, let's keep things in perspective. If they keep Doman and his inept offensive scheme, in no way to they stand a chance of a BCS bowl. Any non-qualifying conf. team, particularly an independent, has to run the table w/ an undefeated record to sniff BCS.
Great tribute to the integrity of Cody and KVN, the BYU coaching staff and the value of a BYU education. As an aside, it will probably increase their monetary value in the draft and the Dingwell-fears of QBs on next years schedule.
Best of luck to KVN and Hoffman.
Sincere hopes they make it through next season without career ending injuries.
I want the tds to bring their best and win or lose withouth the inevitable coulda, woulda, shoulda's we've gotten the last 3 years.
Having the 2 bests players from this year return for next year makes BYU a much better team next year than they would be otherwise. Nothing more. Nothing less. The ONLY ones touting BCS are the tiresome Ute trolls like Mildred, Ernest, and Sir Robin. Not the BYU faithful.
Ga Tech versus BYU and USC
Passing 40 / 75
Rushing 117 / 294
Total Yds 157 / 369
Final Scores
BYU 22 Ga Tech 12
USC 7 Ga Tech 21
BYU's Top 10 defense was legit.
Can't say as much for the "mighty" PAC 12 Trojans.
The best the PAC 12 can do in bowls now is 4-4, with 3-5 likely.
Scenic view
You messed up the BYU and Georgia tech scores...
BYU won 41-17
Great news.
But unless there are changes to fix the offense, next year will be more of the same -- wins over weak teams, close games against marginal teams, and losses vs. good teams.
Kyle can't be expected to score two touchdowns in every game!
Lest Scotsman, UtahUte72 and Brave Sir Robin start hyperventilating, they should recognize that Mildred from Fillmore is a notorious troll, a wannabe Ernest T Bass without the flair. Nobody on this thread is predicting a 10-win season, and given the level of competition next year I would be happy with 8 wins.
Those bemoaning lost income for van Noy because of Barkley – well, first of all, the draft is not for a few more months, so we still don’t know how it will all shake out. Furthermore, a linebacker is more of a solo performer than a quarterback. The quarterback depends on an offensive line, good receivers, reliable help from the running backs in both blocking and running, whereas all the scouts will know going in that everyone will be double or triple-teaming Kyle and account for it. The extra year certainly didn’t hurt Lotulolei at all.
As for Cody Hoffman being a 1st or 2nd round pick at this point, that is sort of like predicting a 10-win season. He simply is not ready. Austin Collie could skip a year because he was groomed for it from toddlerhood. Cody is still raw – huge talent but unpolished.
KVN > Manti Te'o
Re: scenic view
Utah beat BYU by 3.
Notre Dame beat BYU by 3.
So by your logic Utah = Notre Dame
You people on here need to understand that Mildred in fillmore is nothing but a troll trying to be cute but in reality is just a hater and loves to be sarcastic probably just a 12 year old boy playing on moms laptop, ignore her or him.
Congratulations to the fact that there were only a couple of ugly Ute trolls on this article!
This is great news for BYU, Coach Mendenhall, and all of us BYU loyal Cougars. Go Cougars!
We appreciated the humble manner this Linebacker goes about his business. He will go down as one of the best BYU has ever had. Thanks for coming back so we can see you play: receiver in the red zone, touchdown playmaker in the endzone and quarterback sacker in the backfield of the opponent.
Utahute72, if you look at the Cougars schedule a 10-2 record could do it, but probably won't. I don't think they win 10 games but they'll have the defense and a better quarterback so they could have a chance.
Very happy he's coming back next year, such a difficult schedule, we need everyone we can next year.
