Should I be surprised at the inconsistencies in the Mayor's logic?
In Connencticut the tragedy was obviously caused by the guns, not by the perpetrator.
In New York it was caused by the deranged perpetrator.
If the good Mayor were to follow the logic he used following the terrible Connecticut tragedy, he would be pressing to outlaw the subways in his city. The subway obviously caused the death of the innocent person.
