What a wonderful story. Much success to this young man. Boo to the opposing fans for their taunts. They should cheer him for his courage.

Good for him and have fun. But, is there a risk from cheap shots or bad falls that wil tear the screw from his bones? His body still growing and changing - what is the chance his virtabrae want to do something different? If I were him, I say give up contact sports and just do your independent sports for enjoyment. I am not trying to tell him what to do which it is his life but be glad that he can be a normal physical able person. I am visually and hearing impaired and still fish and snow skiing in the mid 50's. Inmagine how far you can go for many years to come not just yourself alone but to be with your family and freinds. Happy holiday and many happys new years to come.

It's his body and his doctor has told him the risks...so let him go for it. He only has one athletic career in high school. It's doubtful he will be paralyzed from a fall.

I have many sports injuries and, looking back, if I had to do it all again, and avoid the knee pain, shoulder pain, heel pain, wrist pain, and others, I'd still play, and evne more.
