The gun enthusiasts are sure on the run right now. When people fail to be responsible and regulate their own behaviors the rest of society will step in.

I'm a pilot, an airplane is designed to have safe fun transportation but they are very highly regulated. I had to pass pretty hard tests, get a medical every couple years and have a review with an instructor every couple years. Then there's a myriad of regulation I have to follow just to keep the airplane legal to fly.

And I am responsible for securing my airplane. If someone steals my airplane and uses it in a mass murder the government will hold me accountable. I think guns should be the same way.

If you leave your gun out it should be viewed just as if you left a stick of dynamite out.

Gun Control vs. Mental Health management:
There has been more carnage related to our foreclosure crisis that were truly more preventable death & mayhem. In San Diego County alone 392 suicides in 2011; also, 2011 was a record year for military suicides Nationally. There is a MENTAL HEALTH Crisis; but there is no Congressional appointed study, no media supported moral outrage, because most of these deaths did not occur with a gun; therefore, not SENSATIONALIZED enough for Mainstream News Media. The hysteria over gun control is just WRONG when there is a more dangerous & insidious problem with how we allow crazy people access to firearms. Why did the mother not have her guns locked up? JP

those points are silly. in 29 mob killing was the mass shootings now it is kids and women. and there are way more weapons out there than there was then so free gun zones cant work. but in gun free zones you can give more time to offenders.
