As I stated earlier this week, this is nothing more than "grandstanding theater" on both sides, so that when they finally get to the point of achieving a joint agreement, they can claim to their base supporters "we fought the good fight" but this is the best we can do under the circumstances of divided Government.
To do otherwise would give their respective base supporters the idea that they "caved in" to the other side.
