Is this actually bad news for cougar fans? Me thinks BYU will really need Van Noy to come back next year ... but will he?
Congratulations Riley and KVN - great honors!
Reggie Dunn is 1st Team and Star is 2nd team. I'm sure the dnews will get around to it shortly though.
Maybe.
Congrats Kyle & Riley! Wish you could have had great coaches to match your great efforts!

Get over your jealousy.
A couple of BYU players being named All-Americans has nothing to do with U!
Stepehsneon sure had a lot of chances to show his stuff this year.
And its another cougar....3 and out!

BYU vs Utah
51st vs 100th passing
63rd vs 94th rushing
66th vs 78th points
Utah fans who live in glass houses should avoid tossing stones.
Enjoy the coach potato bowl!
@chrissyB, later to the punch than usual.
Great job by both players!

Jealousy?
It just seems odd that the Dnews would mention KVH and the punter but not Reggie and Star from the same list. Why is that? I mean, I would comment on the article mentioning the 1st and 2nd team All-Americans from the U, but there isn't one. Go figure.

Another departure into Ute fantasy land, brought back to reality.
Utah 64 punts - 42.8 avg
BYU 52 punts - 47.0 avg

Utah football writers have to pace themselves since it's going to be a looooong December with practically nothing else to write about for the Utes.
Great honors to both. Job well done! I'm selfish, but I hope Kyle returns for his senior year. Just curious- if, indeed, Izzy (who I do like; amazing story) is supposed to be a nat'l first round darling, as has been written about by this paper over & over again but no mention of him even as an honorable mention. Do I see another Cougs over-hype?
Great honors for two individuals who will be playing on Sundays. I only hope I get to see one more year of KVN in Blue and White, but my best guess is he will move on to the NFL next year.
crissy b - do a little research to understand how many times your Utes punted versus how many times the Cougs punted and how many 3 and outs your Utes had versus how many BYU had.

I think you are referencing "Ziggy". I'll give you credit for not following very closely. Shoot, a lot of true cougar fans haven't followed very close.
Ziggy has come out of nowhere to show good performance now, with huge upside for growth. These awards don't reward future upside, they recognize present performance.
Pro scouts will have to decide just how much better he can become and if he is worth the high pick. It will be fun to watch.
big 12 call yet?

If you think Ziggy is over-hyped by BYU fans, checkout this weeks cover and 4-page article in Sports Illustrated.
Cool for Van Noy, I hope Reggie Dunn was MVP as a special teams player, best return man perhaps in the history of football.

Obviously they don't like utah as much and are trying to ignore them. You should complain. More.

Winning record in your conference?
Why would Kyle come back next season? The only chance he will return is if draft advisors can't assure him he'll be taken in the first few rounds. Otherwise there is no incentive to return. He already suffered an injury that could have ended his career and was fortunate it did not. If he is going to stick on an NFL roster then he should absolutely go. We will miss him tremendously if he does leave but he has to do what's best for his future.
