Can anyone say POLITICS!!!! Some of the seniors in the first team were so clearly outplayed by juniors on their same team on the second team it's a laughfer to try and process it. No names mentioned or this won't get printed. Still, I know it's about the attitude it will be their turn next year. Never mind the fact that some kids because of injuries or other set backs never get a next year. Coaches when it's time to pass out awards for your best players, then submit the names of your best players. Quit trying to play the small town political game. Life isn't always warm and fuzzy! Disclaimer: before you decide my evaluation is probably sour grapes, know I do not have a son playing 1A football so I don't have a dog in the fight. Just had the opportunity to watch and follow some 1A football this year, which I must say I enjoyed very much.
You must mean Monticello, I thought they would have a bit more presence on the 1st team, they were pretty tough.
But remember, coaches base their decisions on a lot more than just stats or games, how a kid works and helps his team get better on a daily basis is part of it, or at least, it should be.
