    This is all about demographics from the last election. The republicans lost the Hispanic vote big, so this is a way to try and buy votes in four years.

    Explain to me again why we are enhancing the educational opportunities of people here illegally at a time when half of our recent college grads are underemployed.
    How does that serve the interests of our nation?

    Neither political party has told me how they are going to deal with all the illegal trespassers who don't comply with any "dream act" or don't bother to pay (whatever)fine is assessed vis a vis "amnesty".

    When will EITHER political party begin to discuss compliance or enforcement?

    I would prefer a mandatory military requirement. Such service would put to rest any questions of allegiance to the United States. Without it we would forever question whether or not they were truly "subject to the jurisdiction" of our nation.
