Yep, Chad nailed it. Great information for everyone who uses the roads.
Our canyons are awesome and we should all be riding our bikes up them. I love the idea of making the uphill side of the road a little wider. Brilliant.
Let's make it happen.
The laws of man may build an invisible shield of entitlement around the cyclist, who somehow gets accesss to the road without licensing or insurance. However, the laws of physics are far less forgiving or subject to the whim of man. Cars and trucks win every time in collisions with bicycles, so much so that no amount of legislating can negate what a poor risk assessment it is to allow both on the road at the same time.
