Mr. Van Tassell has correctly observed that Mayor Corroon is a politician, and that politicians know that understanding the importance of timing is critical when trying to do something difficult.
But what interests me is that nowhere in his article does Mr. Van Tassell ever disagree with mayor's request for a tax increase.
He cited no county programs or services he wants to shrink or eliminate. He never actually commented on the proposed tax increase itself.
I see Mr Van Tassel is very pro raising the taxes on food. Why, I thought they were for tax cuts?
Corroon has been stating for years that taxes need to be increased - he wanted to do it incrementally. He has been shot down every time.
The proposed tax increase is about more than just parks - which Mr. Van Tassell knows or should know. It is sophomoric to call out Corroon for not being open and honest when he is not being open and honest.
For someone with such a high position in a tax focused organization, Mr. Van Tassell is extremely unaware of tax related events.
