Goaggies1- care to restate your post? Remember the TITans called our mascot
"lame"- twice- and you opened your mouth via keyboard. I won't
brag or boast. The team said it all through their play.
Hey prep fanatic I wil throw in some ranch dressing for you to swallow the pile
of crow you will be eating tomarrow night. Maybe the wambulance can deliver it
to your house. Happy eating!!!!!
Wow! I HAD nothing against you guys untill i realize how rude you guys are. If
you read any of my any post i said that i think Jordan is going to win, but i
didn't come in to these comments to hate on jordan or there mascot. I
really don't care about about the mascot is all i was trying to say, i
wasn't tring to hate on you guys, i just wanted to know why deseretnews
made an article about something that doesn't even go along with the title.
If i wanted to read an article about the beetdiggers then have the title say it.
I just thought i was getting in to a different article. And I said i
HAD nothing against you because i originally didn't but you are just so
rude. I Have my name "Remember-The-Titans" because i am proud i am a
titan and i really like the movie. I was not relating My high school to the
virginia one. I know its not the same.
@ Remember-The-Titans'Remember-The-Titans' is not unique
to you nor to the Syracuse Titans. It's embarassing that you and your
school are trying to use a name that was derived in 1971 at T.C. Williams High
School, in virginia. We all know the story of that storied high school football
team from Virginia, who not only conquered the race issues of the times, but was
able to put together an undefeated high school football season. Just like you
don't like the storied tradition of the 'Beetdiggers', people
have a hard time with Syarcuse using the phrase 'Remember-The-Titans',
because you haven't won anything as of yet? When, and only when, the
Syracuse Titans win a state title, can you even put yourself in the same
category as the T.C. Williams Titans of 1971. They are the real
'Titans' football team, and unfortunately on Friday afternoon, you
will see the real football team of Utah. And they're mascot is the
Beetdiggers, and they are currently ranked #37th in the nation, according to
MaxPreps. The Diggers only loss is to the currently ranked #1 team in the
country. Go Diggers!
I did say lame because it is. It is a very uniquie and kind of lame mascot. But
i really don't care what there mascot is. I don't hate jordon or there
mascot i just think that deseretnews should write something a little more on
subject. It says they are aiming for first state title and then all they talk
about is the mascot. I didn't mean to come off as being rude, i meant to
say the article was bad i didn't really mean to say the mascot was.
Well, you did say "lame mascot"....
I want hating on you his I'm just saying that I didn't click on this
link to read about the mascot.
Well, remember the TITans, The Offensive line at Jordan are collectively known
as the Gravediggers, and I'm here to tell you that the GRAVEDIGGERS will
bury the TITans at Rice-Eccles on Friday. Don't insult over 100 years of
tradition- how long's your School been around???
I am sorry but i thought i was clicking on a link to take me to a web page about
there football team. and instead i get 1 and half pages about a lame mascot. I
am not trying to be rude, but who really cares about the mascot? I wanted to see
what the players had to say about the up coming game and what they need to do to
win. Don't get me wrong, i have huge respect for jordan but i really
don't care about there mascot. Good luck out there beetdiggers,
the TITANS are coming!!!!!!!!
I played on the Jordan High Football team the last time they won state in 1994.
I loved being a Beetdigger then and I am still a very proud alumni now. Good
luck Diggers!! Gold Dot Pride!!!!
The beetdigger was a field laborer who worked for the farmers who actually owned
the land the beets were planted in, typically earning meager wages. It was a
skill that early farmers hired Japanese laborers for, but as the Japanese were
looking to own their own property the farmers soon realized the best workers for
their fields were the Mexicans who worked hard during the day and were happy as
I love unique mascots: Tarheels, Boilermakers, Cornhuskers, and so on. It
reflects a school's roots and carries tradition with it. Bingam Miners,
Granite Farmers (now gone)- Kanab Cowboys, Manti Templars, even the Delta
Rabbits and others are memorable and have some meaning. I wish the new schools
would pick more creative names.
