Re: "Dems ready to compromise . . . ."

No, they're not.

They want more job-killing taxes and more deranged spending, and they won't agree to anything that doesn't do both, kicking the fiscal responsibility can, even further down the road.

Here's hoping Republicans have the guts and integrity to say "NO" to compromise.

Americans need to know NOW what the product of deranged liberal politics really looks like, rather than when we're actually at the bottom of the cliff looking up, like they are in Greece.

really? Funny how you always seem to think you are an expert on what everyone else thinks. your post suggest perhaps you may want to stay stuck in the same old rhetoric that has failed the GOP for the past four years, I don't know, that is your choice, but hopefully others within your party learned something last night and are ready to try something different.

Yep.

And, it's not just the GOP it has failed -- it's the whole country. We need to keep saying it until even the thickest liberal understands that there really is no Santa Claus, and that Obama's policies will kill America.

If Republican politicos have the guts and integrity to stay the course, even those thickest of liberals will shortly come to realize how truly deranged and dangerous liberal vote-buying actually is.

Maybe even before it's too late.

The key to a real fiscal cliff breakthrough will reside with President Obama negotiating with the U.S. Senate in securing a truly "bipartisan" bill that would put the U.S. House of Representative in the difficult position of revealing their hand as being primary obstacle and primary Party of blame for any disastrous outcome. So the real power in this high stakes game will come down to how President Obama, Senator Majority leader Sen. Reid works with a sizeable number of Republican Senators.

tabuno,
reid will not work with anyone. He has no history of it and no desire to do so. He WANTS things to fail so he can blame the other party. It does not matter what is best for the country, it's what is best for his party.
