An 8-5 season is a strong possibility at this point. Washington barely got by Cal and Arizona is extremely inconsistent. Jon White won't leave the Colorado game up to the kicker. And with a 90% winning rate in bowl games in the last decade - I like or chances there.
It's unbelievable the coaches didn't figure this out again until mid season, but we cannot lose if we give the ballto White all night long. 8-5 is a decent record for just our 2nd season with the big boys. Next year 10-2 sounds better though.
Joe,
Glad you are healthy. Go dominate on the field. The Missionary field.
Lifelong Ute
I love the enthusiasm, but I'd hold off on the 8-5 talk for awhile. The Utes could easily lose to both Washington and Arizona and not even qualify for a bowl.
The Utes are winless (0-7) all time versus Washington, winless on the road this year, and Utah hasn't had road win over a PAC team with a winning record since the 90's. Let's also not forget that Washington is also playing for bowl eligibility and Sarkisian is a former BYU QB, so there's no chance the Huskies will be overlooking the Utes.
I like our chances, but Washington will be a tough task. The betting line is basically even. I agree with Christy that Utah could lose to both UW and Arizona, but I see Utah winning both, or splitting: worse case scenerio. Much like Utah, you never know which Washington, or Arizona for that matter, team will show up.
GO UTES

Yes Christy is right on this one. Utes could lose to UW. I love the direction and improvement, so I believe they will pull it off.
Yes, christy is correct- the Utes could lose this one. I watched UW earlier in the season and was impressed with the improvement they have made on the defensive end. That said, I like the direction and improvement the Utes have made in the last two weeks ( yes I know, against weaker teams, but improved play none the less). I think they will pull this one off. Regardless, what a fun game to watch - Can't wait for Game Day!
Utah is due. They are putting things together and the O-line is now cohesive. White IV is healthy and Travis Wilson's feet have gotten wet. I see Utah winning 2 of the next three games (maybe all three) and getting to a bowl and winning it.
It must be tough coming from a fly-over conference that you used to dominate, and having to face reality every week. I do understand loyalty and enthusiasm for your team (mine was win-less a couple years ago). It sucks not being as competitive as you used to be. At the same time, you’re not in the MWC anymore. Utah hasn’t beaten a Pac team with a winning record since they joined the league – and they won’t this week. You have a good coach and I think you will develop into a good program eventually, but the idea you will become a dominant team in the Pac is probably not realistic. Look at either AZ schools. State has one Rose Bowl, and UA nothing. Beating 2 of the 3 worst teams at home the last 2 games doesn’t mean you’re going to go 8-5, or even 7-6. You’ll be very lucky to get past UA. Hope for snow when they come to town. And I really do sympathize with the frustration, but you are simply playing in a different league now.
