Yippee, it's Jim Matheson-Mia Love day in the DesNews letter section. Wow, like we need more about those two. I'm just glad I don't live in the 4th district. I'd have a hard time deciding who not to vote for. Thank goodness I live in the 3rd district, where, apparently, nobody is running for Congress.
Re: Kent C. DeForrest Provo, UT
Your House Representative in the 3rd District is Jason Chaffetz. A vote for Jim Matheson is a vote for Nancy Pelosi, and since Matheson won't divulge who he is supporting for president I'm voting for Mia Love.
Geez David, why don't you tell us what the mayor of Saratoga Springs does to earn $850 a month with a city manager for a city of 18,000. Why didn't she veto the raise or better yet donate it? Did she go and lead the fight when her city was under water or facing wildfires? How has she been leading the quest to improve city infrastucture which is woefully inadequate? Who is responsible for recruiting police officers under misleading promises if the buck stops at the top? If she isn't responsible for these things and raising taxes in her community then who is and isn't she running away from Saratoga Springs rather than to Congress? I think you are the one that needs to be asking questions. I for one don't want another parrot cloned after Jason Chaffetz marching in lock step behind the Koch brothers and any other radicals.
It's so refreshing for a resident of Sandy to tell us that Sandy has no problems, but that Saratoga Springs has problems. When was the last time that poster visited Saratoga Springs? How were the roads - compared to Sandy's roads? How was the police protection - compared to Sandy's police protection? How many violent crimes per capita compared to Sandy?
How much does that poster earn per year? Are we sure that he/she earns it? Wouldn't it be better if he/she donated that salary to someone else? Couldn't he/she have refused to be paid for doing whatever job he/she does?
Does that Sandy resident pay property taxes? Does he/she think that residents of Saratoga Springs should not pay property taxes?
It's so easy to take pot-shots at people running for office, when, if the tables were turned, he/she would be incensed if someone suggested that their paid service was worthless.
I can check Jim Matheson.
e even has a proven record.
Mia Love is a complete and total no-show.
Her whole campaign is one big "Mitt Romney for President!!.....(and me too, don't forget to vote for mia who has no plans)"
Rifleman:
I guess the sarcasm just blew right by you. But in case you were wondering. I won't be voting for Jason.
