No we don't.Just bring it all to Clive, Utah.
We don't need a repository, we need a recycling facility. Most of the fuel
can be reused, and the latest reactors can even use the weapons grade materials
to generate power. If they want to cut the waste, recycle.
Americans want clear, non-polluting energy, yet are unable to face the facts of
nuclear power. We don't have a problem with nuclear power, we have a
problem with Not In My Back Yard.
Is there seriously NO place in the United States for storage? NO place that
could use the jobs created? No technology that could do as RedShirt mentioned,
safely?Again, think jobs, but also, think safety. But act soon.
If you want nukes, keep the waste in your own state. Since there is no place to
send it that's what is happening now. Nukes can't exist
without un free market government guarantees to clean up disasters for them.
Banks won't finance them without huge government guarntees of taking care
of any problems they have.Nukes are just plain ol commy energy.
Priceless that conservatives are the ones pushing for them.
Just give it to Herbert, he'll take it.
