I agree that the (non) response to the attack on the consulate in Benghazi was a travesty and I agree with the father of Tyrone Woods- this was American soil and how would Americans feel if this had happened in LA or NY and their was no response from the Commander in Chief.
To me though, the biggest scandal is that our President went on the David Letterman show and hemmed and hawed about some stupid, irrelevant video causing the "spontaneous" attack. He also lied to the World about it at the UN and had the temerity to say the attack was " a natural response" to an offensive video.
And all of you people who were uneasy about Gitmo need to know that the producer of that video is currently in jail with no hearing set until after the election. Scary times indeed.

The media is turning a deaf ear to this story because if it is true Obama knew the truth and lied to Americans and fed us that anti-Muslim video red herring story. It would appear that Obama tried to throw the CIA under the bus as part of a cover up and they leaked this story to get even with him.

So why did former Navy Seal Tyrone Woods light up an enemy position with his laser? It doesn't make sense that he'd make himself a target if he didn't expect an incoming missile to take the enemy out.

Oh, please. The only people even pretending that this is a "controversy" are Fox News and right-wing posters on comment boards like this one. Desperation is in the air...

There are so many people who just blindly follow this President, for a variety of reasons, and they can't stand the thought that he might do something terrible. The mainstream press is full of such people. They won't ask the hard questions because they are afraid they might find some ugly truths which will force them re-examine their beliefs about him.

My guess is that if the issue is forced out, the press will then say what he did was not so bad. That is what they did for President Clinton.

@KJB1- you're right. There's nothing controversial whatsoever about the President, Secretary of State, and UN Ambassador flat out lying to the American people and the world. Nothing controversial at all about a dead US Ambassador whose dead body was dragged through the streets and videotaped/ photographed. Nothing controversial at all about 3 dead Navy Seals. But those comments Richard Murdock made in Indiana- now that's a real controversy! Why that man believes in the dignity of all human life- he's a pariah! He should be ran out of the political world on a rail. What a sad state of affairs.

Would your comment also include the father of the former Navy Seal, Tyrone Woods, who was killed? The questions are being asked and Obama is refusing to answer them.

@KJB1,

Your statement says volumes about your world view.

Of course this matters.

Of course this is an issue.

Wake up and see this for what it is.

Our military puts their lives on the line. They need to know that they have their leadership watching their back.

Before any of you go on with the "What about Bush" tripe, do not assume that criticism of this administration is an automatic approval of the previous administration. This is not a "we versus them" issue.

This is a dereliction of duty issue.

I want to know that when my son is under fire and calling for back-up, that my commander-in-chief will not ignore his need!

Almost every part of Charles Woods story is in dispute and just because you listen to Faux News or Glenn Beck doesn't mean that any of you know anything about what went on either.

As my repub friends like to say, LETS TALK ABOUT THE REAL ISSUES!

Why is Mr. Romney running away from the economy talk? Why isn't he explaining how his much maligned tax plan will actually work? Could it be that *gasp* it just isn't possible? Why is Mr. Romney running away about his increasing of defense spending talk, which would add $2 trillion to our deficit over 10 years?

Why is he running away from his talking points from just a few months ago to now agree with President Obama on nearly everything when it comes to foreign policy?

If this whole embassy issue was truly controversial why didn't Mr. Romney bring it up in the last debate? Methinks that even he knew that it wasn't worth discussing (and we know how Romney will go to any length to make an attack. Even attacking Big Bird)!

So again, repubs, lets get back to the real issues, shall we? I get the feeling you folks have already thrown in the towel for this election and are already back to your nutcake ways with wild accusations about birth certificates and embassy controversies.

now guys, back off on KJB1. After all, BO is the messiah of the left and is above reproach. NOTHING he does or is involved with is ever wrong, and Fox is totally evil because they are filling the role of responsible journalists while the lamestream media munches kibbles in BO's lap.

I see nothing from any of the other usual leftist posters here - I guess they realize they cannot defend BO on this one. KJB1's only resort is the usual "Fox hates BO" foil, which is almost as tired and lame as the overused race card.

How much of this story is actually true? How much of it is coming from very questionable sources such as Fox, Rush, Sean, Glenn and others?

The truth is that no one really knows yet.

Boy you right wing faux news automatons sure have it all figured out... I'm sure the Obama administration sat there and just watched as the attack happened, denying any and all help because they're a bunch of left wing peaceniks who don't have the guts to step up to all the threats to this country like the repubs, who proved exactly what they were made of on THE REAL 9/11... Acting like you're all privy to some deep dark government conspiracy. Pathetic really.

This is a shameful episode and the buck stops with Pres. Obama. When libs can't come up with good excuses, they always blame "Faux" News. Talk about a red herring! This issue is important because it goes right to the character (or lack of) of our current president. He was so busy being a celebrity that he didn't have time to worry about the truth. He has been given a pass throughout his administration because the MSM adores him so much that they can't bear to tarnish his image. To me, our president is a classic narcissist. He and his wife have shown total disregard for Americans. While most of us are really strugglling financially, he and Michelle continue to golf and take lavish vacations at our expense. Much was made of the cost of a blouse that Ann Romney wore, while nothing was said about Michelle's dress which was thousands more. It's just so hypocritical. Benghazi-gate is just another reason not to vote for Obama. It's his lack of character and willilngness to do whatever for political expediency.

apparently the letter writer has swallowed whole every conspiracy feed to them without question. Please show is actual evidence that any of your claims are true.

You know, whatever, you are 100% correct. It is the most surreal thing to watch the conservative talking heads trying to make some kind of, any kind of, scandal out of this thing. Even to make the accusation that the president of the United States, as well as his advisors, as well as the joint chiefs, and the secretary of defense, secretary of state, and CIA chief, sat around and just allowed Americans to be killed. These crazed talking heads on FOX and talk radio are saying President Obama specifically wanted to see these people die. But why? And not a single person that was actually in the room has come forward with this claim. But a grieving father, that has absolutely no way to know what actually happened on the tragic night his son died, he carries the banner of truth.

And the breathless republican lap dogs eat this stuff up.

Oh they so much want - need - for Obama to be the bad guy.

"Please show is actual evidence that any of your claims are true."

When Kyle Clark, a reporter with 9News in Denver, asked the president about the requests for help and whether or not it was fair to make Americans wait for answers on Benghazi until after the election he refused to answer. If this had been Bush who'd screwed up protection for our Ambassador to Libya the liberals wouldn't be acting nearly so deaf and blind.

This is all going to bit Obama on Nov. 6th. and it doesn't have a happy ending for the liberals.

Whatever,
thanks for proving my point that the only thing you can fall back on is the tired old "Fox News" foil.

Okay, rifleman, so did you have any actual evidence that any of the claims made were true?

Remember when 241 American servicemen were killed in their barracks in Beirut? Remember how the right-wing went crazy blaming Reagan for the lack of security? Yeah, me neither.

red state pride

@ the self proclaimed alleged "Eisenhower Republican" - the point is not so much the security breakdown but the lies about the nature of the attack. The point is that Hillary and Obama used the arrival of Ambassador Stevens casket as a photo op and a stage to spread more propaganda about their silly little offensive video.
Nothing to see here folks...just keep moving and drinking the koolaid
