I expect to see BYU make a much more competitive run at the WCC championship this season. Despite the loss of Hartsock, Abouo and others, I think this year's team will be even better than last years, and with a year of experience getting acclimated to their new conference, Rose will have the Cougars ready for the unique challenge of playing against hostile crowds in tiny gyms.

Expect many gonzaga fans to make the trip to Provo. They can't get tickets to the games in Spokane.

There was a large contingent of Gonzaga fans at the Marriott Center last year. I think they may have been a bit surprised at how completely they were drowned out when the BYU crowd started to get loud.

Just like playing in those tiny gyms was an adjustment for BYU, those other teams were in for a bit of a culture shock playing the Marriott Center. It'll be interesting to see how the new seating configuration will affect crowd participation this year.

Keys to BYU's success in the WCC.

1. BYU's ability to defend Dellavedova and Pangos on the perimeter.
2. Carlino's overall consistency. He had some great games last year, and some duds.
3. Shooting percentage beyond the arc.
